This is always going to be a hard question! We are sustainability expert team with 15 years of professional experience in this field but truthfully we still find this question hard!

We are yet in a world where consumers, policy makers, producers, brands and retailers have their own definitions of what 'conscious' and 'sustainable' mean. Though this current stage of the market brings confusion, looking at the bright side, we believe this marks a good starting point. We are all in a journey to make progress.

So at ConsiderBeyond, we currently define 'conscious' and 'sustainable' brands as consumer-focused companies that put extra effort to address environmental and/or social challenges. These brands are purpose-driven and committed to bringing positive changes through their products, services, operations, and business models.

It is not our intention to criticize or call out brands that are doing more harm than good. Rather, we wish to use our time and effort to help all brands to be more sustainable by providing them the right tools, resources and platform.

ConsiderBeyond membership is for brands that want to leverage ConsiderBeyond a lot more. We currently do not take transaction fees like other marketplaces. Instead, we ask you for our annual evaluation fee.

More than ever, brands strive to be sustainable and communicate those efforts to the world. Amidst the frenzy, we believe that there is no such thing as a perfect sustainable brand. Like us, as human beings. Becoming a sustainable brand does not happen in a day. It is an evolving and ongoing process.

As we encounter numerous brands, we see some are just starting out while others are well into their sustainable journeys. So when we decide which brand to be included in our platform, we take this into account.

We follow our own standard for assessing brands’ environmental and social efforts. Here are some criteria we look into:
- product ingredients, materials, and more
- acknowledging and defining sustainability issues involved in their business
- transparent communication on these issues
- measurement of their environmental and social impact
- sustainability related certifications
- and more

We collect all relevant data and information from sources that we deem reliable:
1. certifications, accreditations, and other standards systems, 2. brand websites, and 3. credible third-party sources. We then use our findings to assign a selection of our 22 attributes to your brand. This is then listed, along with your brand's certifications, country of origin, price point, and shipping availability on the app.

In total, your brand profile page will have a carousel gallery of images (maximum 6), brand website link, brand short & long descriptions, and the aforementioned listed information.
