6 Sustainable Wine Labels to Stock Up On
There’s nothing more soothing than a glass of wine after a long day. Bonus points if it’s sustainable wine. You might be asking, “How can wine be sustainable?” Well, it includes a lot of aspects of the winemaking process from farming to the facility condition.
Before we share our Sustainable Wineries list, let’s talk about what to look for when searching for sustainable wines.
- The winery has sustainability certifications such as: USDA Organic, ISO, Demeter Certified Biodynamic, Certified California Sustainable Vineyard and Winery, SIP Certified, etc. Learn more about which certifications to look for.
- The winery promotes biodiversity.
- The wine is organic. In order to be USDA Organic Certified, the grapes used in the wine must be organic and the wine-making process should also be organic (Well and Good).

According to Wine Enthusiast, “Each day coincides with one of the elements: earth, fire, air and water. Days are organized by fruit days (preferable for grape harvesting), root days (pruning), leaf days (watering) and flower days, where the vineyard should be untouched.” Learn more about the difference between organic and biodynamic wines.
