SOKO Jewelry is a women-led, ethical jewelry brand that supports artisan entrepreneurs in Kenya through the sale of jewelry made from eco-friendly reclaimed materials. They utilize their platform to connect marginalized Kenyan artisans with consumers, helping to reduce inequality and poverty. The brand uses various materials for its jewelry, including gold, and brass, 90% of which is recycled; silver, processed using reused water; ceramic beads by KAZURI, made from clay dug by hand; reclaimed horn and bone, a byproduct of the food industry; wood, often used during harvesting. Aiming to enhance the economic prospects of local Kenyan artists, SOKO offers training programs to improve and enhance their skill sets. It promotes sovereignty and sustainability for these artisans by capping their work at 50% of the artisan's capacity. SOKO also presents an impact report, transparently outlining the impact of its work.
