In order for a clothing material to be used in a piece of clothing, considerable time is spent to extract these raw materials, process them into fabric, and patch them up as a garment. Hence, a material can be deemed sustainable if it contributes to reducing the environmental impacts during this life cycle. We introduce five fibers we can choose from that help make an item of clothing more sustainable.

The EU played an invaluable role in shaping Agenda 30, a collection of 17 Sustainable Development Goals and an additional 169 targets for the improvement of sustainable practices in Europe 1. These 17 Sustainable Development Goals might be familiar as they are indeed the ones implemented by the United Nations. With that being said, through supporting and implementing these goals, Europe has made influential strides in bringing sustainable initiatives to various industries across the continent. This includes the fashion industry as many pioneering, conscious European clothing brands are looking to the Sustainable Development Goals that are most relevant to the fashion industry and unconditionally incorporating them into their business models.

ConsiderBeyond is all about helping conscious consumers discover such brands that value environmental and social responsibility at their core. Here are 10 European brands from countries like Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, and Spain for conscious consumers in Europe in the search for a new discovery.
