Good Guys Don't Wear Leather is the full name of this French 100% vegan, cruelty-free shoe brand. As the first vegan shoe brand in France and a trailblazer in transforming the shoe industry into something more sustainable, Good Guys utilizes vegan alternatives to all materials used in its shoes (and socks!), which are all independently tested to be free from chemicals that could be harmful to health. While the brand initially began by using PU leather, in 2020, it introduced the upcycled waste leather alternative, APPLESKIN™️, which is composed of 30% apple waste from the fruit industry to its materials and are sourced in Italy down the road from its manufacturers, in a new collection. Constantly aiming to improve its sustainability and lessen negative environmental impacts, Good Guys is working closely with its manufacturers, all within the EU, to remove 100% PU and create 100% eco-friendly material by 2026. At this point, all materials are sourced in the EU from Spain, Italy, and Portugal, reducing carbon emissions from transportation, and are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH Certified.
